Universally considered the meeting point between the American and European schools of motorcycling.

Successfully presented in the United States during 1962 at the request of the local importer, the Scrambler also grew popular in Italy with the advent of the 450 cc version.

An entire generation of young Italians, born shortly after the Second World War, were influenced by American trends. It was there that a large part of 60s music and the style typical of the West Coast was born.

Inspired by the Scramble Races, the Scrambler also stood out for its non-conformist colour schemes, at least with respect to standard Ducatis at that time, like the yellow and orange of the first series, or the green and blue of the second.

Easy to ride, with a versatile engine and supported by an image that was fresh and attractive to young Italians, the Scrambler 450 would earn an important place in the Ducati annals.
