When Ducati designed the 1098, the main aim was to create the perfect balance of performance and tradition by harnessing technologies implemented on Ducati race bikes. With its unmistakeable Ducati style, the 1098 was an attractively shaped supersport bike, ready to give its all on both road and track.
With its red livery, the 1098 flaunted some distinctive elements such as the upturned tail section, the compact front end, the double silencer positioned beneath the seat and the single-sided swingarm, typical of the sports bike design that began with the 916. All stripped back to basics in order to contain the weight and maximise the level of performance.
