Cucciolo Racing

The first chapter of Ducati racing history.

When Ducati entered the world of racing, it was thanks to the Cucciolo that it achieved its first victories.

Races dedicated to micro-engines were very popular in the 40s, with the engines installed on lightweight motorcycles to boost their power. The first Ducati win was scored by Mario Recchia, who triumphed in the Viareggio Grand Prix on 15 February 1947.

Later, in 1950, Ugo Tamarozzi and Glauco Zitelli set various speed world records in the 50 cc class at the Monza circuit.
