The MXGP European Grand Prix, the third round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, is being held this weekend on the French track of St. Jean d’Angely, 140 kilometers north of Bordeaux. The fast hard pack track that has hosted Grand Prix since 1984, has been wet since the early hours of the morning by sporadic rainfall that has affected the surface.
After ending the timed practice session in 15th and 16th position, Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini lined up at the start of the qualifying race that got underway in the pouring rain. Twelfth after the first lap, Guadagnini ran a conservative heat given the risky conditions of the soil, finishing his moto in twelfth position. Seewer's performance was different, he stuck in the traffic at the start, passing outside the top 20 at the first corner, recovering with a solid race to the final sixteenth place.
