Alexander Smith de Ducati North America a réalisé une performance remarquable au Rallye NORRA Mexican 1000. Smith, à bord de la DesertX Rally, a maintenu une position dominante à la fin de la deuxième étape, occupant actuellement la deuxième place dans la classe Rallye Pro à seulement 7m.25secs du pilote de tête.
Malheureusement, Steve Kamrad a dû se retirer de la course aujourd'hui en raison d'un problème technique survenu au cours de la deuxième étape et qui est en cours d'évaluation.
L'étape 3 débutera à 6h00 entre Guerrero Negro et San Ignacio, au Mexique, sur une distance de plus de 250 miles, où Smith continuera à mettre la pression sur le pilote de tête pour s'assurer la victoire au classement général.
