The itinerary

An epic adventure among breathtaking landscapes and Icelandic magic.

Day 1

Welcome to the island of volcanoes, where you can discover unique landscape that has made Iceland famous.

Arrival at Keflavík International Airport and transfer to hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 2 | 320km

Let the tour begin! We leave the world’s northernmost capital and suddenly immerse ourselves in the unspoiled nature of the Hvalfjörður (whale fjord). We continue north and enter the wonderful Snæfellsnes peninsula where, in 2001, the Snæfellsjökull National Park was established.

Day 3 | 270 km

The tour continues toward the north-east of the island; we travel along the north coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula passing right under the famous Kirkjufell formation. Bizarre rock formations due to the particular cooling of the lava, golden beaches and sheer cliffs over the sea, from which you can spot seals and seabirds. At the tip of the peninsula is the Snæfellsjökull glacier-volcano (1,446 m ASL).

Day 4 | 400Km

The day begins with a visit to the Glaumbær folklore museum, where you can see typical Viking dwellings built with rocks, wood and turf.

We ride up the Skagafjörður fjord and stop for lunch in the charming fishing village of Siglufjörður. After a 100 km transfer, we arrive at the pretty town of Akureyri, located on the Eyjafjörður fjord. After a pleasant walk through the streets of the center, we get back on our bikes and, after about fifty kilometers, arrive at the wonderful Goðafoss waterfall, with its original horseshoe shape.

Day 5 | 230km

Today we travel the famous Diamond Ring. The route includes a visit to the stunning boiling mud pools and fumaroles of Námaskarð. Next, we come to the fork that takes us to the impressive Dettifoss (“powerful waterfall”) which, with a drop of 45 m and an average flow rate of 500 m³/s, is the most powerful in Europe. We continue north to the Tjörnes peninsula, a few kilometers from the Arctic Circle, and arrive at the pretty fishing village of Húsavík, where you can take an optional boat trip to discover the whales.

Day 6 | 300km

We set off for the fantastic desert of Ódáðahraun, where the road crosses nothingness and the gaze is lost in the horizon, surrounded by all the shades of brown, grey and black. After the desert, we head down into the glacial valley of Jökuldalur to the town ofEgilsstaðir, where we have a coffee break. Next, we cross the fascinating Öxi Pass and head down toward the coast along the famous Eastfjords.

Day 7 | 360km

The day includes a visit to the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull. First stop at the spectacular Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where you can sail among the icebergs and spot seals. We then go to the nearby black beach, where the icebergs that come out of the lagoon are entrenched by the tide, creating a unique and fascinating scene. Because of this phenomenon the beach is called Diamond Beach. Next, we enter Skaftafell National Park where you can admire the glacier up close, in all its majesty.

Day 8 | 320Km

We start with the black beach of Reynisfjara, famous for its beautiful basalt columns and we continue with a visit to the Dyrhólaey Nature Reserve where many species of birds nest. Next, we visit the following waterfalls – Skógafoss, 60 m high, Seljalandsfoss, which you can walk behind, and Gullfoss, the golden waterfall. After the falls, we enter the Geysir Nature Reserve where the Strokkur (‘churn’) geyser is located, which erupts a jet of water about 30 meters high at irregular intervals of 3-5 minutes. Also in this area is the Great Geyser (now inactive). The last visit of the tour is the wonderful Thingvellir National Park, where you can take a pleasant walk between the tectonic plates to the seat of the oldest parliament in the world, the Althing (930 AD). In the evening we return to Reykjavik to return the motorcycles.

Day 9
