DTC EVO2 - Software for slick - rain tyres

The Ducati Traction & Wheelie Control Evo 2 for slick tyres is now also available for Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S. Derived from Ducati MotoGP 2018, it has been developed for V4R and V4 R Sbk together with Ducati Corse technicians to significantly improve track performance, both with slick and rain tyres, in case of rain.

It not only int erfaces with the 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit and adapts its intervention and bike sliding to bike leaning angle, but the software also considerably improves power management out of turns thanks to the new predictive control strategy. It works on rear spinning instant value, and also on its variation, intercepting grip loss more quickly and reducing slipping peaks, which ensures a faster a smoother intervention

This translates into a greater vehicle stability when exiting turns also when grip is not excellent, enhanced acceleration and improved performance both on single laps and on the long run.

Furthermore, the DTC Evo 2, not only works on ignition advance and injection, but also works the throttle body valves when no fast control is required, thereby ensuring that ideal combustion parameters are maintained and obtaining a smoother engine response.

The software was designed to considerably improve the racing performance of any rider using slick tyres or rain tyres no matter whether it uses the Ducati Performance Racing exhaust or the stock one. It can be set to 8 different levels, (6 for slick tires and 2 for rain tires) which allow each rider to adjust the control strategy to his/her own riding style and grip conditions, in order to achieve top performance.

When the DTC EVO 2 is set to level “1” or “2”, the feature Spin on demand is available, i.e. a dynamic slip control directly related to the rider's request, which allows the rider to control the bike in a way that was so far achievable only by expert or professional riders.

When the bike is leaning over, the rider can use the throttle control like a direct interface with the system and, only for requests exceeding 120 Nm, obtain an increased rear wheel slip compared to that allowed by the normal DTC EVO 2 level of intervention. This will trigger a gradual oversteering that permits the rider to actually close the trajectory with the rear wheel, while the system is controlling the safety parameters
