Multistrada V4 retains the style elements for which all Multistrada models stand out: front-loaded mass, a very sleek rear section, and an ultra-compact front end, ‘crossover’ elements inspired by the style of Ducati Superbikes, from the 916 on. Its look combines elegance and robustness with a marked off-road attitude of adventure and travel.
Improved DRL functionalities

This new advanced LED headlight system with Cornering Light provides superior visibility by eliminating shadow areas in the area near the front wheel. The new dual headlight configuration gives the bike a more distinctive and modern look, integrating aesthetics and functionality in perfect harmony.

New forged wheels

With an innovative seven-spoke design, the new forged wheels - 19’’ at the front and 17’’ at the rear - are light and sporty. The wheels make for a 2kg weight saving compared to standard types, for a more agile and precise bike that promises authentic and responsive sports performance. Equipped with Pirelli SCORPION™ Trail II tyres to ensure excellent performance on any terrain.

Multistrada V4 exhaust flaunts tauter lines, complementing the slender profile of the tail section. The aggressive looking silencer produces an even more unique sound, amplifying that typical Ducati sports attitude.

Granturismo V4 engine: efficient and exciting.

The 1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine of Multistrada V4 combines maximum power of 170 hp with extraordinary control. Lightweight and agile, it offers a smooth, linear response at all speeds, for an exciting riding experience.
Reduced consumption. Enhanced performance.

The Granturismo V4 engine is Euro 5+ approved. Emissions and fuel consumption are reduced by up to 6% with respect to the previous model, without compromising the power. All this is possible thanks to the rear bank extended deactivation strategy. 

MotoGP technology: counter-rotating crankshaft

The V4 Granturismo engine of Multistrada V4 is equipped with a counter-rotating crankshaft, technology deriving from Ducati’s experience in MotoGP. This innovation acts “against” the gyroscopic inertia of the wheels, improving handling and riding precision.

Gearing to enhance versatility

The gear ratios have been very carefully calibrated. First gear is short to facilitate handling at low speed and off-road, while sixth gear is longer to ensure ideal engine speed during motorway travel. This combination ensures smooth and controlled riding, both on challenging terrain and over long range.

Extended deactivation strategy

To reduce emissions and fuel consumption (the latter by up to 6%* with respect to the previous model), Multistrada V4 introduces the rear bank extended deactivation strategy. The two rear cylinders now not only deactivate when the bike is stationary but also when travelling at low speed. As the speed increases, or when the rider wants to fully exploit the power of the engine, the cylinders are reactivated, unleashing all the V4 Granturismo character and performance.

Valve clearance check at 60,000 km

The V4 Granturismo is an engine designed to go distance. All components of the V4 Granturismo are designed for extreme reliability. As a result, benchmark service intervals such as valve clearance checks have been extended to 60,000 km, a record-breaking interval that no other motorcycle has yet matched.

Multistrada V4 redefines rider and passenger comfort with a modification to the top and side cases that results in a roomier and more comfortable ride.
Aluminium double-sided swingarm

For stable sports riding even at full load, the new aluminium double-sided swingarm is mounted on a pivot that is positioned 1 millimetre higher. This boosts the anti-squat effect, helping to hold the line.

Choice of three wheels

The 19'' front and 17'' rear rims can be of 3 types: cast, spoked and for the first time forged with a weight reduction of 2 kg compared to cast. The lower rotating inertia of the rims, generates a reduction in the gyroscopic effect, thus increasing handling by facilitating changes of direction.

Improved sound quality

The exhaust has been refined by careful sound quality work, with an upgrade to meet Euro 5+ regulations*.

The new exhaust has been redesigned to create a sound that combines the sportiness of Ducati's DNA and the acoustic comfort derived from lowering the frequencies that could be fatiguing on long rides.

New rear braking system

The rear brake disc increases from 265 to 280 compared to the previous generation. The regressive rear lever has a new foot pedal that provides more grip and generates a better feeling of efficiency: greater braking force and increased modulability.

Braking is improved not only mechanically, but also electronically: the Front to Rear system already present among Ducati features, evolves by distributing braking according to the load on the bike.

Also introduced is the new Rear to Front system in the S version: in particular situations of lean angle and Riding Mode, when braking at the rear, the system will also intervene on the front brake.

Reduced vibration for less tiring travel

All frame elements and engine components are optimised to reduce vibration and afford rider and passenger the most comfortable ride possible.

Climbing aboard the Multistrada V4 means being enveloped by a “bubble of comfort”, inside which you can ride without background noise even at high speeds. Minimal vibration reduces riding stress, particularly over long distances, as does reduced engine gear noise.

Ergonomics for comfort

The seat, seat shape, and legroom are designed to make any rider comfortable while improving the passenger experience. Both the rider and passenger seat are adjustable according to two positions. No two motorcyclists are the same, which is why it is important to ensure every Multistrada rider is at ease on any type of road.

Riding position

Both the rider and passenger seats are quickly adjustable to two positions, and thanks to the optional rider saddles, the height range is from 810mm to 890mm (with no active automatic lowering device nor suspension lowering kit) to ensure an excellent ergonomic saddle-handlebar-pedals triangle for people of all statures. 

The saddles are seamless to minimize high-pressure areas, contributing to less fatigue especially on long rides.

Suspension that evolves in real time.

The semi-active suspension on the Multistrada V4 S adapts to the road conditions and vehicle load using advanced sensors and an electronic control system. A new sensor on the fork allows for more precise control strategies and more efficient riding, while Bump Detection prepares the response of the mono shock, transmitting information coming from the fork.
Suspension Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evolution

The Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evolution (DSS EVO) represents the latest evolution in Ducati's semi-active suspension. Thanks to an integrated sensor mounted on the fork that provides real-time data, it is possible to have even more precise strategies, such as anti-dive and anti-squat, to improve riding dynamics in all conditions. Thanks to the DSS EVO, it is possible to have the best suspension setting for each type of use by varying their behavior thanks to the suspension modes that can be selected while riding. Available in S version.
Suspension Automatic Lowering Device

System that automatically adjusts the preload of the monoshock to change the height of the bike. At low speeds (ed. below 10 km/h) the preload is instantly raised to the minimum to make it easier for the rider to touch the ground. When speed increases (ed. above 50 km/h) the preload is returned to the preset value, returning the bike to the optimum set-up for the riding dynamics. The function can be disabled by the user.
Suspension Suspension Mode independent of Riding Mode

The new Suspension Mode can be adjusted while riding via a dedicated button, independently of the selected Riding Mode. This function allows the rider to customise suspension behaviour based on the riding conditions and personal preference, for greater flexibility and control while riding. With this option, the bike setting can be rapidly adapted to ensure the ideal response in every situation.

Part of the Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evolution, the Bump Detection system automatically identifies speed bumps and potholes using fork-mounted sensors. When the front suspension system detects a roughness in the terrain, it immediately adjusts the rear to absorb the impacts. This improves rider and passenger comfort, promoting a smooth ride even over rough terrain.

The rear shock on Multistrada V4 has been optimized with an 8 mm increase in preload, extending the adjustment range from 12 to 20 mm. This improvement allows for more balanced calibration under different load conditions, optimising the suspension response both with a passenger and luggage and in normal riding conditions. This increase in preload significantly improves stability and precision, while heightening the effect of the Automatic Lowering Device in the S version for a comfortable and safe ride, even at full load.

The S Radar version, already including front and rear radar and an already state-of-the-art technological package, adds further tools and features designed to provide unparalleled control and riding pleasure.
Front and rear radar system with new Forward Collision Warning

Multistrada V4 was the world’s first bike to integrate both front and rear radar, activating advanced rider assistance systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Blind Spot Detection. Adaptive Cruise Control automatically maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front, while Forward Collision Warning warns the rider in case of a sudden approach. Blind Spot Detection helps to identity vehicles coming from behind, further improving safety.

6.5-inch dashboard with integrated map navigator

Multistrada V4 S comes complete with a 6.5” TFT dashboard designed to offer excellent readability in all conditions thanks to optical bonding technology. The graphics are complete and provide the rider with all the necessary information.

The system features integrated navigation with the Sygic GPS app, implemented thanks to a phone’s mirroring function, which also allows the rider to manage calls, view their contact list, or listen to music via the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS).

The standard version is equipped with a 5-inch TFT.

Ducati Connect

The system maintains its map navigation functions by way of the Ducati Connect app, which also supports use of a phone to manage calls and listen to music, all via an intercom-equipped helmet.

Joystick control

Management is via a joystick positioned on the left block, for quick and simple menu navigation. There are dedicated buttons with which to switch Riding Mode and adjust the suspension, while Adaptive Cruise Control is managed using the classic button and + and – keys, which serve to increase or reduce the distance a rider wants to maintain from the vehicle ahead while travelling. 

5 Riding Mode: Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, Wet

Sport Riding Mode

The best for road-going performance. In this mode, Multistrada V4 delivers the full 170 hp with a direct, spirited response, managed with a sports suspension set-up in the S version. Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Wheelie Control invention are reduced to a minimum and the ABS, set to level 2, allows for controlled lifting of the rear wheel in order to maximize braking performance, while retaining the Cornering function. The ideal choice for expert riders who want to fully exploit the motorcycle’s potential.

Touring Riding Mode

In Touring Riding Mode, Ducati Multistrada V4 unleashes its full 170 hp but delivery is smoother and more progressive. Higher DTC and DWC intervention levels make for better vehicle control. The ABS is set to level 3, the safest and most prudential thanks to rear-wheel lift detection, Cornering ABS functionality, and an optimised front/rear combined braking effect. The suspension set-up is designed, in the S version, for long journeys and offers maximum comfort to rider and passenger.

Urban Riding Mode

In Urban Riding Mode power output is reduced to a maximum of 114 hp with a particularly gentle and progressive response (Low Engine Mode), while the suspension calibration,in the S version, adapts to the roughness of city bottoms such as bumps, potholes and manholes, handling the constant surface changes better. DTC and DWC are set to high levels, while ABS is set to level 3.

Enduro Riding Mode

The Enduro Riding Mode allows Multistrada V4 to make the most of its off-road potential. This Riding Mode limits engine power to 114 hp with a dedicated Engine Mode (Offroad), for a more dynamic and direct response with respect to Urban Mode, despite equal power. This mode also sets, in the S version, the DSS Evolution specifically for off-road driving. DTC and DWC intervention is low, while the ABS is set at level 1, suitable for off-road use on low grip terrain. In this case, rear-wheel lift detection, Cornering ABS functionality, and rear wheel intervention are all disabled. 

Wet Riding Mode

The new Riding Mode Wet is designed for riding on low-grip surfaces, specifically in the wet. This mode limits maximum power to 114 hp with an especially smooth throttle response (Power Mode: Low). The default level of electronic controls is set to provide maximum stability and best grip.

New Automatic Lowering Device

The Automatic Lowering Device automatically and quickly lowers the vehicle when going below 10 km/h and then returns to riding trim once 50 km/h has been passed, providing greater safety whenever it is necessary to put the foot down. The system allows seat lowering from 15 to 30 mm, depending on load (seat height: 810mm-825mm standard seat; 780mm-795mm lowered seat; 765mm-780mm lowered seat + suspension lowering kit).

Easy stationary manoeuvres with Easy Lift functionality

This feature acts on the suspension hydraulics by fully opening the semi-active unit valves for approximately three minutes when the ignition is switched on. This softens the suspension, making it easier to lift the bike off the stand.

Skyhook suspension with Bump Detection

The exclusive Ducati Skyhook semi-active suspension system and its numerous configuration combinations allow the riding experience to be customised based on a specific route and riding style. The advantage of electronic suspension lies in the possibility to change bike behaviour in a matter of seconds and identify the ideal configuration for every type of use. Added to this is the new Bump Detection system, which automatically identifies any uneven terrain and transmits this information to the rear to instantly adjust suspension behaviour.

Electronic Combined Braking System

Multistrada V4 S's Electronic Combined Braking System (eCBS) greatly improves stability and safety. With its dual operational logic, front-to-rear and rear-to-front, the system optimizes combined front and rear braking. Front-to-rear logic activates the rear brake when the front brake is applied, improving stability and effectiveness in high decelerations. Rear-to-front logic, on the other hand, supports deceleration and promotes greater cornering stability. This contributes to a more relaxed ride and more effective braking management. The rider can choose to take advantage of front-to-rear braking only by selecting abs 2 or take advantage of both front-to-rear and rear-to-front braking by choosing abs 3.
