HomeThe Hager PBM Ducati team will kick-start its 2025 Bennetts British Superbike campaign this weekend when official pre-season testing gets underway in Spain.
The team will join the rest of the 2025 pack at the first R&G Official Test at the Circuito de Navarra on Sunday and Monday, April 6-7, with Glenn Irwin back on board the Ducati Panigale V4R.
The event marks the beginning of another season for the championship’s most successful team - and the second for the new era Hager PBM Ducati squad, headed by Jordan and Frank Bird.
The two-day test at the circuit in northern Spain will be the first chance for the class of 2025 to get on track together and will be followed by two further R&G Official Tests at Donington Park and Oulton Park later this month, before the new season begins at Oulton Park in Cheshire over the Bank Holiday weekend May 3-5.
Irwin, who took the title fight down to the final round at Brands Hatch last season before finishing third in the championship, has spent the last six weeks in Spain, working on his fitness and getting prepared mentally and physically for the 2025 season, where he has one goal – to lift the crown at the end of the year.
Glenn Irwin (Hager PBM Ducati #2)
“I can’t wait to get back on the Superbike. I had a little play about a month ago at Almeria with a V4S road bike supplied by Ducati Manchester - I was due to have four days on track but we got really unlucky with the rain and I got four sessions!
But it was enough to light the fire and remind me how much I love riding the Superbike and now I can’t really think about anything else. For me, Navarra is more about getting back on the bike, getting the team back together, it’s not about being the fastest guy on the track, it’s about getting the whole team back on the pace and working together.
We’ve got a new tyre this year, we’ve got a lower seat to test and a few new things to try so it’s about making a schedule, sticking to it and not getting caught up trying to go to the top of the timesheets – we’ll be concentrating on the things which need to be done, because the work we do here will pay off when the season begins.”
Jordan Bird, Team Co-Owner
“It’s been nice to have a proper winter to be able to plan things. It’s been a longer off-season than normal which has been annoying but great at the same time as it gave us a bit of bit of time to find out feet and get ready for this year.
The truck went out on Monday and everything is ready to go. We’ve got all new parts this year, Glenn is fitter and happier than ever, the team is happy and we’re just looking forward to getting going and seeing how this year is going to turn out.”
