The chassis structure is extremely light and the monocoque frame is a multifunctional technical element as it also acts as an air-box. In fact, in addition to the air filter, it houses the throttle bodies and the fuel circuit complete with injectors. The bottom of the steel tank is used as a closing element to complete a work of high motor engineering.
Compared to the Panigale V2, the cycling quotas have been optimized for the different intended use of the bike, as well as the specific weight distribution with the rider on board. The steering shares provide for a headstock inclination of 24°, 94 mm of trail for a wheelbase of 1465 mm. Thanks to a careful definition of the heights of the front and rear, the weight distribution remains that of a distinctly sporty bike, 52% front and 48% rear.
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a Showa BPF 43 mm diameter front fork, fully adjustable in compression and rebound damping and spring preload. Front end control is completed by a Sachs steering damper.
A linkage equipped with a progressive link drives the fully adjustable Sachs rear shock. The side-mounted shock allows quick access to all adjustments, the link is driven by a cast aluminum single-sided arm.
