MotoAmerica 2025 kicks off this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park with Josh Herrin riding in with the number one plate

The MotoAmerica 2025 season is set start this weekend at the stunning Barber Motorsports Park facility in Birmingham, Alabama.

Round one represents a significant moment in Ducati’s North American history, as Josh Herrin begins his race on the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R, proudly adorned with the number one plate as the reigning MotoAmerica Superbike Champion.

Herrin put in a dazzling 2024 season on the Panigale, winning the title by 55 points with six wins and 13 podium finishes to his credit. But his focus will now be on repeating the feat, one that, if successful, will see him become a three-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion, joining legends Mat Mladin, Miguel Duhamel, Reg Pridmore, Fred Merkel, Ben Spies, Doug Chandler, Josh Hayes, Cameron Beaubier and Jake Gagne in the MotoAmerica Superbike pantheon.

Herrin will be the sole factory-backed Warhorse HSBK Ducati representative in 2025 on the Panigale V4 R, and the 2.38-mile Barber Motorsports Park—a Herrin favorite—is the perfect place for him to begin the task of defending the number one plate.

“I’m really excited to kick off the Superbike season with the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati team at Barber,” Herrin said. “We started the year strong with a win at the Daytona 200 on the Ducati Panigale V2 and that has given us some great momentum, but now it’s time to shift focus to the V4 R and the Superbike championship.

“Barber is one of my favorite tracks—it has amazing facilities and is such a fun layout, but it hasn’t been a place where we’ve had our best results on the V4 R. That said, we were able to test some of the setup changes we found at Mid-Ohio last year, and they translated really well at Circuit of The Americas, so I’m hopeful that they’ll help us turn things around at Barber. I’m feeling good and ready to get to work.”

Round one of the 2025 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship from Barber Motorsports Park is scheduled for April 4-6, 2025, with on track action starting at 10:00 am CDT. Herrin and the Superbike field will get their first Free Practice session at 11:50 am CDT.

Superbike race one will go green at 4:10 pm CDT on Saturday, April 5, with race two scheduled for Sunday, April 6 at 4:10 pm CDT.
