Elite 200

In 1959, the broad line-up of Ducati bikes from the mid-Fifties was extended to include the most sophisticated bike of the time - the 200 Elite.

Featuring all of the innovative technology introduced by Fabio Taglioni with the “Marianna“ and the first single-cylinder racing bikes, the 200 Elite may well be considered as a sort of sport-production bike of the time.

The 200cc engine made its debut on the 200 Elite and was later used on the 200 Motocross, the predecessor of the 250 Scrambler that was to come in the early Sixties.

Beautiful, handling exceedingly well and sporting stylish details, the 200 Elite met with great success on international markets at a time when domestic sales were very sluggish. In those years, many Italian riders switched to four-wheel vehicle.

Thanks to its amazing success, the 200 Elite enjoyed a long life, and was eventually discontinued in 1965.
